Workshop on Discrete and Combinatorial Geometry
April 11-14, 2008

The workshop will take place on South Padre Island, a resort location off the coast of Texas. It will kick off with a series of talks given at the nearby campus of the University of Texas at Brownsville. These talks, on Friday afternoon, April 11, will be given by:

• Henry Cohn (Microsoft)
• Robert Connelly (Cornell University)
• Jeffrey Lagarias* (University of Michigan)
• Charles Radin (University of Texas at Austin)

The rest of the workshop, on Saturday, Sunday, and ending Monday at noon, will take place in the historic SPI Center on South Padre Island.


Participants will mostly fly to either the Brownsville/South Padre Island airport (BRO), or Valley International Airport (HRL) at Harlingen. Continental Airlines serves both, and Southwest Airlines also serves HRL. There are cheap shuttles from either airport to the island; we will soon give further information about this.

We will soon include recommendations for lodging on the island.

Transportation on Friday between the island and the Brownsville campus will be arranged by the workshop.
