Clicking on "Interactive Course Notes" (in the previous HTML document) will bring up the emacs editor with a BOOKMODE file, provided you run netscape (and thus emacs) on one of our lab machines (in house or remotely), or on another Unix machine with the appropriate (free) software installed. BOOKMODE files are interactive: Clicking with the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON on 1. text highlighted in red will load another document 2. text highlighted in yellow or green-yellow will run a program (e.g. evaluating the highlighted expression). This takes place while you are in the emacs editor: You can modify the document, including the highlighted text. HELP: Clicking on the highlighted red "help" (top right) in any of the sections of the "Interactive Course Notes" will load a short help file.
