I. Finish reading Section 10.1 (pp. 646 - 652)
- The Caution on p. 648 is important.
- Be sure to understand the difference between a confidence
interval for a mean response (pp. 646 - 647) and a prediction interval
(pp. 648 - 649). The Caution noted above is a good starting place.
- The Caution on p. 649 can also help you see the difference
between confidence interval for mean response and prediction interval.
II. Do the following exercises to reinforce reading and for
possible class discussion: p. 667 #10.3(c), p. 675 #10.25 (Read the
introduction to #10.23, p. 647 first.)
