Calculus
2. Read the
handout Random Variables. (Remember to follow the Guidelines
for Reading Mathematics.)
3. Do the Exercises
at the end of the handout Random Variables to discuss in
class Friday.
4. Start reviewing
calculus concepts as needed. The handout Calculus Review
Problems has some problems to help you. (Some of these will probably

portions of Epp, Discrete Mathematics with Applications
mentioned in the first day handout under prerequisites may be helpful.)
- If you were not able to complete
#6 on p. 59, try it again.
- Read Section 2.3.
- Try problems #8 on p. 54 and #9
