We went over the syllabus, as seen for instance on Canvas, in particular the
grading system to be used. We discussed the role of the course web site:
www.ma.utexas.edu/users/radin/teaching/24s/361 and links on it as
regards homework and obtaining grades. I then gave an overview of the
course and how I approach the material. Finally I started with conventions
in treating complex numbers.
