The primary purpose of this page  is to provide links to other pages. These  contain information of various sorts. Some of this will be very useful to students, and some of  it  is just here for fun.

• The notes for this course are from lectures of Dick Palais (who is not maybe so incidentally my thesis asvisor) which he gave in Taiwan.  They are  titled  An Introduction to Wave Equations and Solitons  and can be downloaded.

 
• The   course desciption  is   available as well.   This will also serve as the first day handout, with information on grades, a tentative course outline and so forth.   Read this if you are trying to figure out  if  you want to register for the course.

 
• The  details of the grading policy  are available as well.  This page will contain a list of possible topics for seminar presentation.

• A list of  possible references in classical  mechanics. THIS IS UP! Note that Arnold's book on classical mechanics (one of the standard references, although not my personal favorite), is in the Springer Yellow Sale.   This ends December  31.
