Abstract. We study measures generated by systems of linear iterated functions, their Fourier transform, and those of their orthogonal polynomials. We show that a Mellin analysis permits to fully characterize the asymptotic behaviours of these and other related quantities. Relevance of this analysis to quantum mechanics is briefly discussed.
