Outreach:
I was one of the founders of the IAS/PCMI
Park City Mathematics Institute, which has programs for high school
teachers,
undergraduates, graduate students, post docs and senior researchers. In
connection with the Park City summer school, my coworker Chuu-Lian
Terng and I organize a mentoring program for women
mathematicians , which is held at the Institute for Advanced Study
for ten days in late May. Last year the program moved
from
the IAS/PCMI sponsorship to a home as a joint program of
Princeton
University and the Institute for Advanced Study. Information
about
the 2003 program is available here.
Information at the IAS web site should be available soon.
Don't miss Saturday morning math. SMMG
is a Saturday morning program for high school students with
explanations
of state-of-the art research and hands-on activities. Students at all
levels
are invited. It is a great way to get a glimpse into the fascinating
world
of mathematical research ideas and applications.
