Assignments:

Assignment 1 for October 3rd.
Assignment 2 for October 10th: The following questions from the homework: Section 2.2: 11(c)(d), 13(a); Section 2.3: 12; Section 2.4: 13
Assignment 3 for October 17th: Questions 2, 6, and 8 from the homework.
Assignment 4 for October 31st: TBA (But we're definitely meeting -- please send requests if you have any!)
Assignment 5 for November 7th: Questions 2, 3, and 6 on current homework.
No proofs class on November 21

The idea is that you should try the questions beforehand, and a few people will be called on to present them. (I will also give 20 minutes at the beginning to give people a chance to try the questions if they haven't already.) In the process, we'll figure out what makes and what does not make a proof.
