Antiderivatives are not integrals
If you have taken calculus in high school, you probably have seen
the idea of an integral, and
you may be wondering why we have been talking
about antiderivatives instead of integrals. The
reason is that they're
totally different concepts!
As we will see in the next section, a definite integral is a number,
and as we have seen here, an antiderivative is a function.
These concepts are different, but are tied together by the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
We will see this beautiful theorem soon!
